Can’t make it into the office? Feeling too sick to travel? Out of town but still need medical care from a provider you trust?
What Is a Televisit?
A televisit is a secure, virtual appointment with your healthcare provider conducted in real time using two-way audio and video technology. You’ll meet face-to-face with your provider through your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer using a secure internet connection.
During your visit, your provider will:
- Review your symptoms and concerns
- Discuss treatment options
- Prescribe medications when appropriate
- Provide medical advice and next steps
- Schedule follow-up care if needed
Televisits are designed to offer the same quality of care and attention as an in-person appointment.
What Conditions Can Be Addressed?
Most concerns typically handled during an office visit can also be managed virtually, including:
- Minor illnesses
- Medication management
- Follow-up appointments
- Review of test results
- Chronic condition check-ins
- General medical concerns
If your condition requires an in-person evaluation, our team will assist with scheduling an office visit.
How Televisits Work
1. Complete Consent Form
Eligible patients will complete a one-time telehealth consent form sent electronically. The form can be signed directly from your phone or device.
2. Schedule Your Appointment
Once your consent is received, our team will schedule your virtual visit at a convenient time.
3. Pre-Visit Preparation
Before your appointment, a member of our clinical team may contact you to:
- Verify and update your medical information
- Confirm insurance details
- Review the reason for your visit
This helps ensure your appointment runs smoothly and efficiently.
4. Join Your Appointment
Approximately 30 minutes before your scheduled time, you will receive a secure message with a link to access your televisit.
You must:
- Have a stable internet connection
- Enable your camera and microphone
- Use a device with a functioning camera
Video capability is required. If your camera is not working, your appointment may need to be rescheduled or converted to an in-person visit.
Technology Requirements
- Smartphone
- Tablet or iPad
- Laptop
- Desktop computer with webcam
A working camera and microphone are required for all televisits.
Billing & Insurance
Televisits are billed similarly to in-person appointments. Copays and coverage depend on your insurance plan. Our team will review any financial responsibility with you prior to your visit whenever possible.
